BEAN Sensory Motor Training Strategy for Preterm Children
- Early Bird HK$1,450(30 Apr 2026 前)
About this course
Prematurity is the leading cause of death in newborns under four weeks of age, and preterm birth complications significantly contribute to mortality and morbidity in children under five years of age.
Respiratory, neurological, gastrointestinal, metabolic and infectious complications that may adversely affect the development of the newborn can be seen due to prematurity. Early community physiotherapy intervention is fundamental for the development of preterm babies and children to minimise developmental disability and facilitate normal movements through multi-sensory-motor integrations. Heep Hong Society Physiotherapists Team has developed the "BEAN" strategy to facilitate parents' competence in handling and training preterm babies. Through this half-day professional training, participants will equip themselves with an evidence-based practical application of "BEAN" strategy in management of preterm babies and toddlers.
