Course Features
- Modern and safe techniques specifically for sports therapists

Course Content
- The role of the manipulative therapist & appropriate insurance
- Differentiate between Osteopathy, Chiropractic and Physiotherapy
- Theory – motion testing and palpation; principle of leverage and coupled motion; combining leverages
- Spinal Mechanics / Fryette's law type I and type II
- Contraindications and red flag pathologies
- Explanation of HVT, Grade 1–5 mobilizations
- Mobilization, muscle energy techniques and manipulative techniques demonstrated to the thoracic spine, lumbar spine, pelvis and sacroiliac joint
- Manipulation techniques: thoracic (towel assisted), sitting & standing thoracic, sitting/standing/prone CDJ, supine AP thrust (Dog), 1st & 2nd rib thrust, butterfly springing, pelvis-assisted & prone rib thrust
- Lumbar spine manipulative technique – lumbar roll with kick-start, Chicago roll
- SIJ manipulation; pubis-symphysis manipulation (shotgun)
- Peripheral manipulations – Talocrural / Tibia-talar / Tibia-fibula joint
Eligibility
- Category A – Registered Members and Student Members of STAoHK
- Category B – Medical and Allied Health Members of STAoHK: physiotherapists, medical doctors, TCM practitioners, chiropractors, osteopaths, etc.
- Any qualified professional mentioned above but non-members of STAoHK can enroll too; Athletic Trainers / Therapists welcome.

- A certificate of completion will be issued by "John Gibbons Bodymaster Method".
